Content Creation at Spring Classic Festival
We've just returned from an unforgettable time at the @springclassicfestival hosted by Wavelength Magazine, in the stunning location of Woolacombe, Devon. With a ton of content to shift through and edit, we're still battling that hazy festival jet-lag.
Before we catch up on sleep, hereβs the lowdown on what made this festival stand out, especially when it comes to sustainability π
1. Embracing Reusables: Setting the bar for sustainability
One thing that blew us away was the festival's commitment to sustainability. Unlike many other festivals that claim to be green but still end up littered with disposable cups and plates, Spring Classic/Wavelength Surf Mag had a new game-changing scheme.
For a Β£2 donation, you received a wristband on your first purchase, granting you access to reusable serveware from all the traders. This initiative saved a whopping 120kg of waste in plates alone! You'd return the serveware after each meal and get a fresh one with every new purchase.
No more awkwardly carrying around floral camping plates β they had you covered!
2. An Abundance of Vegan and Veggie Options
If you've been to festivals before, you know the struggle of finding vegetarian options, let alone vegan ones. But at Spring Classic, they nailed it! The array of vegan and veggie choices was a dream come true for plant-based festival-goers. Say goodbye to the days of bacon overload β this festival catered to all dietary preferences, making everyone feel welcome.
3. Leaving No Trace - A Spotless Experience
Sustainability didn't stop at the reusable initiative. The festival organizers were on top of their game, ensuring clean toilets, tidy areas, and absolutely no rubbish in sight. No cans of Stella or fruit winder wrappers littering the grounds β they made sure to leave no trace. Kudos to the team for setting such a high standard!
4. Family-Friendly and Accessible
It's not often you come across festivals where under 12s get in for free. Spring Classic Festival offered this amazing deal, making it a family-friendly and accessible event. Festivals can sometimes break the bank with ticket prices and extra expenses, but not here. Making the festival inclusive for families was a heartwarming sight to see.
5. Good Vibes, Great Views, and Best Behaviour
Spring Classic nailed it with good vibes all around. The capped attendance ensured an intimate atmosphere, and the eclectic music, talks, and wholesome activities kept the spirits high. But the best part? There was no sign of stereotypical festival behaviour β just a bunch of like-minded people coming together to enjoy themselves responsibly.
In Conclusion
We raise our cups to the Spring Classic Festival for their mega efforts in sustainability, especially for a festival that's only two years old.
It's clear that they've set a new standard for eco-conscious events.
Special thanks to @weareplaster for the invite, taking care of us and keeping us hydrated with @deadmansfingers and @mermaidgin throughout.
Here's to many more years of sustainable, memorable festivals! π»
